Can you believe that One Week, One Pattern 2014 (OWOP) has drawn to a close already? I had so much fun and enjoyed the many compliments I received from colleagues and friends, so thank you Handmade Jane for your brilliant hostessing skills!
OWOP confirmed what I already knew - that Colette Patterns' Hawthorn is an extremely versatile pattern. However, I am surprised that it seems to divide opinion so strongly. I really don't know why, because it was lust at first sight for me. I'm pretty pleased with all five of my versions and had no problems at all mixing and matching my way through the week. I'm not a huge skirt-wearer, but Hawthorn could easily be hacked into a skirt, meaning that you could get countless of outfits from this sweet little pattern!
Day 1: Cropped Hawthorn Blouse
Worn with Topshop dress and shoes
Day 2: Polka-dot Hawthorn Blouse

Worn with Office shoes
Day 5: Granny Chic Hawthorn Dress
Worn with Converse trainers
Day 6: Collarless Hawthery Dress

Day 7: Cropped Hawthorn Blouse

Did you take part in OWOP this year? How did you find?
I've seen you posting these over the past week - but seeing everything compiled as one post... WOW!! Very well done :)
ReplyDeleteLOVED your styling - in particular the shoes! The polka dot blouse and the Neolithic print dress were my favourites. What a great pattern - will add that to my ever growing To Do list.
ReplyDeleteI love hearing what people's favourites are, so interesting with our different tastes and style ;o)
Deletewow! gorgeous wardrobe! you really know what suits you :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah, I try ;o)
DeleteI love this set of outfits - you look so incredibly polished and yet relaxed at the same time! my favourite is the nana outfit with sneakers - but I am a bit quirky like that!
ReplyDeleteAaaaw, thank you! High five quirky sista ;p
DeleteAll your versions are stunning! I can't believe how different they all look. What a visionary :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Julia, never been called a visionary before ;o)
DeleteCute!! This is what OWOP is all about- seeing a single pattern put into different outfits for different occasions. What a great choice - what great Hawthorns!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Winnie...I have much trouser envy after your OWOP!
DeleteLovely! My favourite OWOP I've seen so far!
ReplyDeleteShucks, thanks!!!
DeleteWould never have bought this pattern but your versions are all really lovely. I really like the tops, they are super cute. Thanks for sharing all your makes. x
ReplyDeleteYou're most welcome, glad you liked it!
DeleteYes I did OWOP, I found it hard by the end of the week wearing the same thing (skirt) by the end I was longing to throw on some jeans. You did really well, looks like this pattern has given you lots of options for making and styling.
ReplyDeleteThanks Louise! I have to pick an OWOP pattern that's flexible, because I'd struggle just like you if I was too limited.
DeleteHawthorn divides opinion, you say? What's not to like?! It looks awesome on you! I particularly like the blouse and jeans combos from days 2 and 7 - you look HOT, lady! xx
ReplyDeleteI know...I still don't get how some people hate Hawthorn?!? And thank you *blushes*!
DeleteYou've had a brilliant week Marie - you're a real ambassador for that pattern now! Love how you've styled it so differently each day. Bravo! x
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane, loved your selection of vintage blouse and your hosting is second to none :o)
DeleteWow, I love all of your versions of the Hawthorn, although my particular faves are the spotted blouse and newest Hawthery dress! The shape of the dress really suits you and love the vintage styling! Once I get over my fear of buttonholes I'll have a go at making it now that I've seen how well it can turn out, thanks for sharing this :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Elenita, you're too kind! I hope you master buttonholes soon, they're brilliant :o)
DeleteI'm super impressed with how diverse your makes are. I really wouldn't have known it was the same pattern unless you pointed it out. Great job!
ReplyDeleteAaaw, thanks Jeri!
DeleteI can't understand why anybody wouldn't love Hawthorn. It's just gorgeous, as are all your versions - there is so much inspiration here!
ReplyDeleteI know, right?!? It's a mystery to my! Thanks for the kind words \o/
DeleteI love the Hawthorn too! The colour if your neolithic one is amazing and works so well with the navy cardigan. I've loved owop this year, feeling a little sad now it's over though!
ReplyDeleteThanks Helen...and don't worry, OWOP 2015 will come around faster than you think ;o)
DeleteHawthorn is absolute perfection on you! Love all the outfits.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Kat!!!
DeleteThat's a lovely set of outfits! They all look great. I've recently overcome an irrational fear of sewing buttonholes so I think Hawthorn will have to go on my sewing list now!
ReplyDeleteOooh, yay Ruth!!! Definitely give Hawthorn a go soon then ;o)
Deleteall of them really pretty,
ReplyDeletegreat job! your clothes are really well-made.
Thanks Juliana :o)
DeleteLove your Hawthorns! Especially the little cropped blouse from day 1 - amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's a cute blouse, I must admit!
DeleteI am in love with the cropped blouse you made - where did your already small waist disappear to? It's just so flattering.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya on the divide......I love this dress pattern.....on other people. I am not sure if I would wear it if I made it.....I should just try it and see.
Yes, give it a go! The bodice is lovely with or without the collar and you can easily replace the skirt with a different style. Or, make a cute cropped blouse ;o)
DeleteAll your Hawthorns are adorable! They mix and match SO well!! That purple collar less version is perhaps my favorite, such a lovely color on you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sallie! Can't believe how well my collarless version has gone down :o)
