Lots of you seemed to like my
Flamingo-jersey-turned-Renfrew, which reassured me that I'm not alone
in loving 'interesting' prints. So to thank you for making me feel
less like a freak, I have two metres of Flamingo jersey to gift to one lucky reader!
This giveaway doubles up as a bribe to
keep you sweet while I pop over to Cyprus tomorrow to visit my
family for a week. And it's also a way of spreading the love, as I'm feeling
incredibly fortunate to have recently won Megan Nielsen's epic birthday giveaway (I'm still gob-smacked).
So not just one, but three
good reasons to host a giveaway!!!
This is open to any reader anywhere in
the world. Just leave a comment telling me what you'd make with your
Flamingo jersey, by midnight (GMT) Wednesday 21 November. Don't
forget to include your email address if it's not on your blog! The
winner will be chosen randomly and announced on Friday 23 November.
Good luck! I'll just leave you with a
reminder of how cool you too can look if you're the lucky winner ;o)
I would love to make a cute A-line dress with it! Such a lovely print!
ReplyDeletemy e-mailadress is sara_hoste@hotmail.com
I love this jersey!!! I want a dress from it! Enjoy cyprus!
ReplyDeletehmmm, I'd prob make a Vogue 1306 t-shirt.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning the M Nielson giveaway.
Oh my god, you won the Megan Nielsen giveaway!!! That's awesome. I love this fabric. I think I'd try to make something adapted from the Sew U Home Stretch book, maybe with a contrast peter pan collar in white.
ReplyDeleteI know Karen...I literally couldn't believe it when I received Megan's email. I squealed at my work desk and then had to explain myself to puzzled colleagues!
DeleteOooh. I'd make a mock wrap dress!
DeleteThanks for giving away this gorgeous fabric, I'd love to make a top or tshirt.
ReplyDeleteooh, i love this print! i would try out one of the dresses from my recently purchased copy of Sew U Home Stretch.
ReplyDeleteThat fabric is so cute!
ReplyDeleteAnd I want to do a jersey dress from Ottobre design (the first one in this post http://ottobredesign.blogspot.se/2012/08/more-close-up-shots.html ) OR maybe a long-sleeved t-shirt.
Have a good time in Cyprus!
johhol01@gmail.com
I've never made anything with knits before, but I think I'd love a long sleeved wraparound top. Such a cute print!
ReplyDeleteEleanor, South Africa

I love cute prints! :) I have to admit I would copycat and also make a Renfrew with it, that pattern has been on my wishlist for ages! Think it'll get added to my xmas list :)
ReplyDeleteI have a significant deart of flamingo tops in my wardrobe so thst's what I'd use it for :) Have a lovely time in Cyprus!
ReplyDeleteCount me in please! I need some exciting inspiration to help me conquer my fear of knits :)
ReplyDeletedefinitely a renfrew!
ReplyDeleteIt's gotta be a renfrew style top for me. Mainly because I heart yours so much it hurts. I LURVE that fabric! Enjoy your trip :)
ReplyDeleteI think I'd try a Renfrew too, I've had the pattern for a while but benn too scared to try it - flamingos would encourage me to give it a go!
ReplyDeleteI might make a Renfrew - copycatitis. My second attempt at knits.
ReplyDeletethis says cute frock for my little girly, and in a colour that won't show mud stains!
ReplyDeleteOoh - want, want, WANT....!! :-D
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm a teeny tiny bean of just over 5 foot, which means that with a generous 2 metres, I could make 2 things.
Having just cut out some PJ trousers from this: http://dittofabrics.co.uk/elephants-on-navy-printed-cotton-fabric, I'd have to make a long sleeve PJ top with white cuffs, bottom band and collar to ensure a complete safari set of bed wear! Now, that just needs me to decide whether to be a tiger or a sloth in the bedroom to complete the animal theme ;-)
I'd then have just enough left to make my TNT kimono sleeve t-shirt, perfect with jeans - so I can have day and night time versions.
Can't stop grinning at the thought...
Lovely giveaway - and I'm sure whoever wins will have fab ideas of what to do with it. Have a great time with your family. x

Great top! I think I too would make a top as I've dont hardly any so far. Maybe a cute tee to layer over the winter and on its own forthe summer.

I don't usually jump on giveaways, but this time I must! After all I'm a displaced Floridian and the flamingo is our state bird! (OK, not really, Florida's state bird is the mockingbird, but it SHOULD be the flamingo.) I also love navy. I'd make a Renfrew, because I wouldn't waste such amazing fabric on something that's not tried-n-true! I have been wanting to do a version with elbow-length sleeves.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip!
So cute! I would make a summer dress out of it. Thanks for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool giveaway Marie, thank you for the chance ....I'd definitely use it to make a Renfrew. Not sure which neckline, but a Renfrew for sure. Have a good time in Cyprus
ReplyDeleteI would make a lovely top. Thank you for the giveaway!
ReplyDeletecarriemak at aol dot com
OMG! I'd love to make my own version of the Burda dress from the book!
ReplyDeletegamola_2000(at)yahoo(dot)com
Ooh, what a nice giveaway! Thanks for sharing that fantastic fabric. I would likely make a Renfrew too because I adore yours!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice time in Cyprus!
Just like everyone else, it would have to be a Renfrew. Those flamingos would have to be for something TNT. Have a splendid vacation!
ReplyDeletemarycoll at telusplanet dot net
I'd make a simple dress, likely short sleeved or sleeveless since there's a minimal amount of material. I'd belt it and cinch the waist. Maybe something like Simplicity 1796. Or maybe a cute knit top with raglan sleeves.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! Congratulations on the stellar win! Lucky you!!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to throw my name in the hat :) I'd make a flamingo dress. Preferably one that has red accents because, America. :)
I'd make a jersey snood/scarf type thing so then I could wear it with EVERYTHING!
ReplyDeleteI am totes jealous that you won Megan's giveaway! Congrats on that and have an ace time in Cyprus! x
I think I would make a Renfrew like you, I'm still too scared to make it even though I have fabric sitting there waiting, I'd feel obliged to make it if I won this!
ReplyDeleteI love this kind of print, so fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice trip, and thanks for the giveaway :)
Oooh what gorgeous fabric, please count me in! I'd make another fitted knit dress (from a pattern this time) with a collar and cuffs. X
ReplyDeleteI love this fabric ! With two meters I'd probably make a renfrew top like yours AND a snood with the remnants. Thank you for hosting this giveway! Enjoy your time in Cyprus
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this fabric, as I have been doing a lot more practical sewing with knits lately. I would love to make a top similar to yours from the Blank Slate Tee pattern. I have been playing with drafting using this pattern, and on my list is either a cowl or turtleneck version for the cold weather.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting a great giveaway!
This fabric is so darling! I'd make a Renfrew or a cute little dress with this stuff. Probably a dress as there's enough yardage there for it!
ReplyDeleteLove so much! Thanks for the generous giveaway!
lovely print, reminds me of spain. I would make a fitted dress with 3/4 length sleeves if I was to win it.
ReplyDeletewell done you with the megan nielsen win you are one lucky lady!

Omg, can't believe you won the Megan Nielsen giveaway you lucky so and so..I PRAYED I'd win that one, guess I'm just not as lucky as you!! Well, I made my first ever garment out of jersey and I'd love to do some more experimenting. Maybe a Renfrew top or two or maybe even a short jersey dress? That flamingo print is awesome! Keeping my fingers well and truly crossed for this one...
ReplyDeletesabinamoolla{at}hotmail{dot}com
Oh YAY! I loved this flamingo fabric when I saw it there and was instantly envious! But now you're sharing the love, which is so fab of you! :) I'd make a Renfrew of my very own if I won this fabric from you.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely vacation!
I love flamingos! Your top is fabulous. I would use that fabric to make myself a top. Or maybe a dress. Or maybe a skirt...
ReplyDeleteI would have to make a shirt out of this fabric. It's so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI want to make a pretty wrap dress to wear with white wedges for summer! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteooh wrap dress - good idea!

ReplyDeleteRenfrew, Renfrew, Renfrew!!! :)
ReplyDeletei think i'd have to be a TOTAL copy cat and make a t-shirt or maybe a little cardigan with that adorable jersey!
ReplyDeleteI'll be off on a hot holiday soon too! Hope you have a great time! I'd really enjoy inventing something snazzy with this fabric, thanks for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteEeep! I super duper love this jersey!!! I would make a nifty knit dress from Simplicity 1882. Thanks so much for hosting such an awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHoly Moly there's some love for this fabric!! I have to admit I'd go for a Renfrew but then again I've also got my hands on a copy of Sew-U Home Stretch so may have a go at the t-shirt pattern from that. And if there were any scraps left I would totally make flamingo knickers with them, or flamingo pants for toddler Boy.
ReplyDeleteI'd make a t-shirt and a singlet from it, need more of both this summer
ReplyDeleteOoooh! I love, love, love this fabric! I would make a long-sleeved T-shirt. Maybe one with Raglan sleeves in a different color!
ReplyDeleteCrossing my fingers that I win this one!!!
MadeByTrisha [at] gmail [dot] com
I love that fabric. I'd make a wrap dress. Or pyjamas. Flamingo pyjamas would be amazing!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, and how wonderful to pay it forward! I'd looooove to win this fabric!
ReplyDeleteD'oh! I didn't tell you what I'd make with it! (Been a long day here) I would make either a renfrew or M6612 - a super cute dress with cowl.
ReplyDeletesuch cute fabric! I would make a Renfrew with short sleeves I think.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels!
I'd mix it up with red and make my favourite Muse design, Butterick 5676. I'm seeing myself walking down the street, complete with patent red heels.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous fabric! Just lovely. I would make a 60s tunic dress for sure! Have a great time in Cyprus xx
ReplyDeleteEveryone fancies this fabric - me too! I would make a Drafting Top :)
ReplyDeleteHappy holidays!
I love this sooo much! If there was enough I would make a wrap dress but your Renfrew looks good too....
ReplyDeleteWhat a great give away - I would definitely love to make a casual summer tee out of that fabric
ReplyDeleteWow well done on the megan nielson giveaway! and what a lovely idea to do a 'pass it on' giveaway yourself. LOVE the flamingo fabric and would love to win it (of course) - I'd make something like dixie diy's hotcocoa sweater with it, but longer (http://dixiediy.blogspot.be/2012/10/hot-cocoa-sweater-free-pattern.html). Or maybe a slouchy raglan/dolman top with a band around the bottom to give it some shape. Either way, it clearly works so well as a top I'd be doing that.
ReplyDeleteHave a great time in Cyprus!
WHAT. This must be too good to be true. I'm tempted to make a flamingo cardigan, that's for sure. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh! I love it so much, Marie. I've wanted to try out knits and this would be perfect for a pretty shirt!
ReplyDeleteOh my, that fabric is just so gorgeous! I'd make a simple tshirt to start with. Then maybe one for my sister as well, since I know she'd adore flamingo fabric too....
ReplyDeletemacska at gmail dot com
Count me in too! I would totally copy your top though!
ReplyDeleteLove this fabric! I would make a simple, wear any where dress.
ReplyDeleteLove love love this fabric! I would make a kimono sleeved tshirt, I think :) Thanks for the opportunity, and enjoy Cyprus!

ReplyDeleteI have not sewn a shirt in ages therefore if I should win I would make a shirt with this fabric.
ReplyDeleteI love this fabric! I would make my first non maternity Renfrew for post birth glamour!
ReplyDeleteOh lovely! I think I would have to go for a hot patterns torque top which has been in my pattern stash for ages. I think the print would compliment the nice twist on a jersey top pattern.
ReplyDeleteThankyou for the giveaway and congrats on winning Megan's!
xxx
I'd use it for a Renfrew, I love that pattern and need to use it again soon! Thanks for the give away!
ReplyDeleteHave a great trip to Cyprus and congrats on the prize winning! If I had flamingo fabric I think I'm make a renfrew too :)

ReplyDeleteGorgeous fabric!! I'd make a bat-winged tshirt for myself and there will likely be enough left over to make a sleeveless skater dress for my 5-year old. Thanks for hosting the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to win the flamingo jersey! I've actually never worked with jersey before, but recently bought Renfrew because I've been wanting to try. . . And have been hunting for a cute jersey that would inspire me to give it a go, but everything so far has seemed pretty boring to me. Fabric has to be fun or amazing somehow to get me to want to work with it - this jersey would be perfect! :)
ReplyDelete-Jenni
That is such a cute print, and so is your top! I would make a long sleeved t-shirt or top from one of my burda magazines...
ReplyDeleteI love this fabric and I think I will have to say as others have, I would make a Renfrew! Oh, and and I have just seen this fabric as a loose top in Phase Eight!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this jersey. I'd make a knit top.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your holiday darling... I can see another dress forr me in these...
ReplyDeleteI'd make a dress out of this lovely fabric! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
gogunia3(at)wp(dot)pl
I would love to make a little sundress or maxi dress with this fabric. I'm not afraid of wearing flamingos head-to-toe! Although I do have a friend who loves flamingo fabric, so I might have to make her something.
ReplyDeleteAs this would be my first ever knit-make I'd have to go for something fun, flirty and 40's like the new Tiramisu knit dress from cake patterns
ReplyDeleteSuch a awesome giveaway Marie! Would you believe I have never sewn with a knit fabric?!? Sam xox
ReplyDeleteflamingos always look like they're doing yoga-type exercises so i'd make - yep - yoga pants! (and baby ones with leftovers). thanks for the chance.

ReplyDeleteI'd make a maternity adapted Renfrew to cover my growing tummy! gaynor walsh at talk talk dot net
ReplyDeleteI'd make my daughter and awesome pair of skirted leggings!
ReplyDeleteh dot petersen at yahoo dot com
I'm also going to be a copycat, but only because the Renfrew is my go-to shirt pattern now and I wouldn't want to try something new and accidentally mess up the cute fabric! aliciamarie14 [at] gmail [dot] com.
ReplyDeletePhase Eight sell a top made out of identical fabric (google phase eight flamingo print top), but yours is WAY better!!! how cool is that?!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow the print of the Phase Eight top is exactly the same...just different type of fabric I think! Thanks for letting me know ;o)

ReplyDeleteMy email-address: spekulatiuskatze [at] web [dot] de
Greetings,
Nadine
Sonja @ gingermakes has just told me about this giveaway and your Renfrew top! I'm so pleased that I wasn't the only one who bought that flamingo fabric from the stall in Leicester market! My boyfriend kind of gave me a squinty-eyed look when I bought it, although he's since told me that he really likes the Renfrew dress I made out of it!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm obviously not entering the giveaway (that'd be a bit greedy!) but just wanted to join in the flamingo fabric love!
Lucky you to win the MN giveaway - jealous!
ReplyDeleteI reckon I'd do a Renfrew lengthened to dress length as well.
Beautiful fabric I would make a Renfrew t'shirt with the lovely cowl collar. My email is ca2jo@yahoo.co.uk
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely fabric! I'd probably make a skirt, or perhaps even a dress, out of it. Hoping to be the lucky one, and thanks for hosting this giveaway! :) maritha.bostrom@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI do so love that print, it's so cute! I'd probably make a little peter pan collared top with it, saccharine up that sweetness a little!
ReplyDeleteHave a great time in Cyrpus!
I'd make a top for my daughter. She loves prints.
ReplyDeletethat fabric is pretty cute. i'd probably make a long sleeve top (maybe from my hot cocoa sweater pattern, quick and easy).
