***Since posting this, the lovely Sam from All things quilty...and sewy , commented that she buys all her Liberty fabric from Shaukat & Company. At a mere £13.75 p/m and who can blame her?!? They even stock the Spring/Summer 2012 collection too! Thanks for sharing this with us Sam!***
Waking up to temperatures below freezing consistently has seriously made me crave some brighter, warmer weather. Nothing that admiring some pretty fabric online can't soothe, so I took myself off to Liberty.co.uk to check out its much talked about Spring/Summer 2012 collection.
It certainly helped to brighten up my spirits and I didn't even succumb to the temptation, but it has spurred me on to save some money up for even just one metre of some buttery-soft goodness!
Here are some of my absolute favourites:
Have any of the prints from this new range taken your fancy?
I love the collection! I blogged about my faves a few weeks ago, but since then discovered the accompanying video on the liberty blog, which shows them in true scale. They are all too too delicious!
ReplyDeleteYou totally beat me to it then ;o) But thanks for pointing out the video to me...yum!!!
DeleteOoh, I had not seen those yet! So hard to pick a favorite, but I think the floral designs are calling to me most loudly. My husband (who knows me well, lol) encouraged me to USE the Liberty I have and simply replace each piece used with a new one ... it's still hard to cut into it, but maybe I will this Spring, just so I can sample something new!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm a huge fan of florals too! Your husband's tip is great, if you're replacing fabric used, then it won't be so expensive in a way. I hope you do use yours up soon, have confidence in your great sewing skills Andrea!
DeleteI had the best time at the Liberty store in London last November. I still have not cut into my "perfect" fabric yet, but I will soon! I love Tiers of Light and Kerry's Flock B! Beautiful prints!
ReplyDeleteI can imagine it must be VERY hard to cut into Liberty lawn!
DeleteOoo i haven't seen this collection. I quite like the feather print it looks to be quite versatile and would look good made up as a top, dress or even a pair of shorts. mistral B is lovely too reminds me of a watercolour painting.
ReplyDeleteIt has been cold lately hasn't it and there was me think we were going to get away with a mild winter this year lol!
It has been freezing! To be fair it's been fairly mild until the end of Jan, so we can't complain too much...though I do hope it starts warming up soon ;o)
DeleteMy favourites are Ellie Ruth, Picardie and the giant Chrysanthemums. Like you, I didn't succumb when I visited but I'm tempted to start saving up...! x
ReplyDeleteLets make it our aim to treat ourselves to some this summer Jane...we're worth it ;o)
DeleteThey're all gorgeous, but I just could not walk out of the store without that feather print...!
ReplyDeleteYes, it really is quite special!
DeleteI love the Tiers of Light - how gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi Marie,
ReplyDeleteI hear you! I absolutely love anything Liberty of London put out, the patterns and colour palettes are to die for.My all time favourites are Betsy and Wiltshire.
I buy all my Liberty fabric from this online store:
http://www.shaukat.co.uk
Liberty fabric at 13 pounds a meter is a very good price!!! I recommend them 100%. Sam xox
Oh my gosh Sam, thanks SOOO much for sharing this! These prices are so much more affordable, meaning I may be able to get some sooner rather than later ;o)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous fabrics! I had a little splurge in Liberty's last month and got Powell and Glencott House (which looks far nicer in real life than on the screen). My friend bought Glyn Ann which I think I regret leaving behind, it really is lovely.
ReplyDeleteWow this fabric looks gorgeous, I've never been to this fabric site but I'm going there now! My favorite of this group has to be the Umbria B!
ReplyDeleteethernal flame b.. is so cute xx
ReplyDeleteThese are just divine, you really can't beat Liberty fabrics can you?
